Our Organisation
Akhil Bharat Krishi Go Seva Sangh is a dedicated organization committed to protecting the environment, advocating for animal rights, and promoting animal welfare through multifaceted efforts. The Sangh’s mission encompasses legal advocacy, research, on-ground initiatives, and public awareness campaigns to create a compassionate, sustainable, and harmonious relationship between humans, animals, and nature.
On the legal front, the Sangh actively engages in filing and supporting cases in various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India to address animal cruelty, exploitation, and neglect. By leveraging legal expertise, the organization works to enforce and strengthen laws like the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, of 1960, and challenge government policies detrimental to animal welfare and natural resources. Notable efforts include combating illegal animal transportation, preventing unauthorised slaughter, and seeking justice for severe instances of animal abuse. These legal interventions aim to create a precedent for compassionate treatment and stricter enforcement of animal protection laws.
The Sangh operates Gaushalas (Caw Shelters) that provide a safe haven for abandoned injured, and stray animals. These shelters are more than just rescue centres, they are hubs for the research focused on improving animal health, sustainable livestock management, and developing ethical practices that benefit both animals and rural communities. The Sangh's research efforts analyse traditional Indian wisdom and modern, globally recognised practices to create sustainable, eco-friendly solutions that prioritize animal welfare and environmental balance.
In addition to its legal and research work, Akhil Bharat Krishi Go Seva Sangh actively advocates against the export of live animals for slaughter to other countries. Recognizing the trauma, cruelty, and inhuman treatment involved, the organization researches international policies and collaborates with experts to prevent evidence-based recommendations for prohibiting such exports from India.
Public Awareness
Public Awareness and educational campaigns are a core aspect of the Sangh’s work, aiming to cultivate a deeper understanding of animal rights, ethical treatment of animals, and the significance of environmental conservation. These initiatives seek to shift public attitudes, foster empathy towards animals, and build a society that values all forms of life.
Through its comprehensive approach, Akhil Bharat Krishi Go Seva Sangh has made significant strides in policy advocacy, legal victories, and grassroots outreach. The organization’s dedication to combining traditional wisdom with modern research enables it to influence policies, strengthen animal protection laws, and create lasting change. Its efforts contribute to a more just and compassionate society, where animals are treated with dignity, ecosystems are preserved, and sustainable practices are embraced for the welfare of all living beings.
